[quote=XodoX;12008061]To anser yoiur question. Yes, you're acting like a racist. I don't care if tradition is your cover up or not. Limiting your own children to your small-minded beliefs is bad and shows that you failed as a parent.[/QUOTE)

I appreciate your honest correspondence!! Thank GOD we do not all think the same, now carry on and have a splendid day!!!

In todays US society I would hate to say that any race is holding down another race. That is just a victim mentality and a great excuse for not getting ahead. Hispanics are some of the hardest working people and don't accept being "Held Down".

You must not live in a city with a large Hispanic community. In general, Blacks resent the Hispanics since they are now the larger minority and take away some of the power, money and focus that used to go to the black community.

The same racism you perceive toward Blacks is the same racism I recognize that black show toward Hispanics.

I agree that both Blacks and Hispanics have some deep-seated issues with one another due to a host of reasons, but overall both races need to empower themselves academically so that they can equally compete with others.

So why is that white people are the only targets of being labelled racist?

Do you think blacks CANNOT be racist?

It all goes back to our tribal mentalities. If there were never black slaves, there would not have the bias we see today. It would be there, but not at the hatred we are slowly getting away from. You will have your extremes, though.

I see more black on white, than I see white on black, racism.
I see hispanic on black racism, more than anything now.

Great post, it would be great if we could empower all people through education so they can compete. There are many white uneducated that I'd include with this also.

Yea yea yea , the whole 'getting it' thing. Whatever, still about as limp as an over cooked Ramen noodle. Believe it or not, I can't care either way, I have experienced racism, as a white person, so, that dog won't hunt neither. Your premise fails on far to many fronts to go into.

Agree and let us not forget about the Native Indians being included as well. Their educational stats are not desirable either.

True love is and should be colorblind. I can understand somewhat (not necessarily agree) about the carrying on tradition as other racial groups feel the same way about staying within their race. I just view this as limiting because your son could find that special lady who just happens to not be black. Should he turn his back on true love because the lady lacks melatin in her skin? What if she is only half black as our current president is? Would that be out of the question? I am posing these questions because I'd like you to seriously think about this because if he were to fall in love with someone outside of the black race, this really isn't something that should cause strife between you and the son that you love.

Yeah ... I also have experienced this phenomenon. I've heard racist comments from blacks towards hispanics and vice versa. When I say racist, I am referring to the belief of the superiority of a race versus other races.

I also have experienced racism as well which is why the whole "only whites can be racist" premise irks me big time.
