Im watching christmas at the white house with oprah & the obamas. Our tax dollars are hard at work in the white house yet people are losing their homes, jobs & 1 out of 8 americans is receiving food stamps. What a country we live in.

HAH!

And if he did not celebrate Christmas, you all would be screaming about how he is some Muslim and wants to get rid of"Christian" values and all of that.

Go Obama. Do what you need to do. You just cannot please some people no matter what you do or say.

Are you effing serious?

Are you really that desperate? This is absolutely hilarious. Especially coming from the "war on Christmas" crowd! What is it you want the man to do? Wait, I think I know...

That's it then! Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans...no more merciful beheadings...and call off Christmas!

What would you have him do? I'm probably living better than many people too...should I be denying myself because other people can't have what I do?

What's funny is that the OP is ultimately complaining about capitalism. The very thing they cheer as the end all be all of this country every day. They seem to forget that the claims of food stamps, homelessness, and a down turned economy are all results of capitalism run amuck.

When it comes to those without insurance, they adopt the hard line approach, ie "Tough Shyt", and "Work harder". But when they want to use it as a means to complain about Obama, they embrace the same unfortunate souls and wonder out loud "What about these poor people on food stamps?"

I can't think of anything more disingenuous or void of integrity than these crybabies.

You were expecting a pre-Scrooge Cratchit family Christmas at the White House?

In fact I think The White House should move to a more manageable size , maybe somewhere in the suburbs of Detroit to show some empathy with the victims of the banking collapse ( which was caused by ..... let me see was it ... extreme capitalism, greed and self interest ???) , maybe a small two bedroom bungalow, the First family should simply limit itself to a small pre-loved vehicle and Obama and Michellle should be buying clothes from Wal-Mart ( we do want to show sympathy with the stricken multi-nationals after all). And no security guards because those do cost money. No staff of any kind in fact. No space for them in the new more "down to earth" , recession Friendly residence.

And there should be no parties, Burger King hamburgers all around when the Foreign Heads of State and world Diplomats come knocking .

The mind boggles as to how low some posters have to scrape to blame Obama for just about everything... I am amazed he hasn't been accused of having created AIDS , The Plague, committed the Holocaust and murdered Kennedy too. And He probably does eat cute Puppies and Kittens for breakfast too before heading off to sacrifice small Babies on the Altar of Satan ....

The idea of the Head of State of one of the most powerful Nations on Earth being criticised for having a luxurious Christmas official residence would be hilarious if it was not so tragic.

Well, he did say that we are not a Christian nation.

They don't attend church, or synagogue, or any other religious services, and as far as I know they are not looking for a spiritual home base (now that they've cut ties with Rev. Wright).

Why is the WH not observing separation of church and state? Why are tax dollars being used for lavish Christmas decorations and celebrations?

Isn't it a bit hypocritical of the liberals to support this when all they do is attack any mention of Christianity here in the forum? Ooops. Sorry. I should have said 'xianity' so that everyone can understand.

Things weren't much better during bush years, so don't get your undies in a knot!

Homelessness was rising during the Bush years, but yet, they had enough Christmas money to spend on a new house, while people lived on the streets. go figure.

: Their new digs, located in a ritzy Dallas suburb, will cost $2.07 million. If they have to save up this much Christmas money for a new house then the people they would have given gifts to are really missing out.
The divide is growing even deeper for the haves and have nots.
