He DID NOT proclaim the US a Muslim country as alleged in the thread title. He said it is a Muslim country too. Guess what? As there are Hindus who live here it's a Hindu country TOO. That DOES NOT mean it's a Hindu country. If you're incapable of understanding the different meanings of those statements perhaps a remedial English class would help.
Here's a helpful guide: if it's tall, white, and blonde, it is "one of us".
If it's not, it is somehow determined to destroy all of our liberties and, in expressing its own beliefs, is somehow inherently preventing you from expressing yours.
If the president never makes any proclamation even closely resembling the OP's assertion (entire quotes always catch you guys in your lies, don't they?), then consider it to lack analytical abilities and fearful of anything brown.
Yes that is what Malcom X thought before making a Haj and then saw the fallacy this was.

Any time you would like to post a link I would be happy to read it. If you would like to read the link from the Times you would see I am correct. Thankfully everyone can read the link for themselves and see what you are up to.
Well now you are being dishonest. This was part of an interview and their were 2 different statements at two seperate times containing 2 distict thoughts. I encourage you to actually read the link but here is the answer you linked in its entirety.
"“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” Mr. Obama said. “And so there’s got to be a better dialogue and a better understanding between the two peoples.”"
As any literate person can see from his actual comments these are two seperate and distinct thoughts. But nice try. Why do you guys continue to try to reinvent the mas words?
I did read the entire article. And I saw absolutely NOTHING to indicate any kind of "proclamation", which is the assertion of the OP in this thread. As any truly literate person can see, the second sentence merely expands the first with the first being an explanation of why he thinks the second.

The very title of the Times link includes the word TOO, if you're incapable of understanding the difference between saying the "US is a Muslim country" and the "US could be seen as a Muslim country TOO" you're incapable of comprehending simple, basic English. The OP conveniently lacked the word TOO in a lame attempt to attribute different meaning to the statement.
"In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”"
The whole quote:

Not an proclamation, but rather a conditional statement.
I don't recall anyone saying we were an islamic theocracy. The OP asked what to have for Christmas dinner now that Obama says we are a muslim country, which he did. I don't know why everboidy has their panties in a twist over this question. Obama said it plain and simple.
When did Palin say we were a Christian theocracy? Before you reply make sure it fits the definition.
So if you are in agreement that Obama is not stating that the US is an islamic theocracy, that he said that the US is a muslim country - whats your problem? I'm sure when Obama went to speak in front of La Raza he said that the US is an hispanic country. And he would be right. The US is a muslim country, a catholic country, a protestent country, a hindi country, a budhist country and yes (gasp!) even an atheist country. It is so because we the people make the US, and we the people are as varied in our beliefs as we are in our colors.
As to Palin .... anytime a politician attempts to make policy based on his or her religious convictions then that politician is attempting to make the country in a theocracy of their choosing. If Obama decided to ram a bill through that demanded women wear veils or that men grow beards or that people must pray to Mecca five times daily then yes - you, me and everyone in this country would have the right to be upset, scared and defiant. Obama has not said these things and has not in anyway indicated his desire to do such things. You have an ideological wedgie for nothing.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with history. I'm also familiar with racism when I see it. Yet, somehow, you are defending this racist thread that manipulated statements Hannity-style to try and distort their meaning.
If the OP wishes to celebrate Christmas, then the OP must consider him/herself a Christian.
If so, s/he is in direct violation of the 10 Commandments and now, without repenting, destined for eternal damnation.
Thou shalt not lie.
May God have mercy on his/her soul.
