I never thought I'd say this....

I voted and fully supported Obama during the 2008 Elections....when McCain brought this unknown outsider Sarah Palin in as his VP candidate I thought McCain had made one of the dumbest political mistakes in recent memory (Giuliani waiting for Florida primaries is the dumbest LOL!).

Now I wasn't one of these super obsessed Palin bashers (who would criticize anything and everything she said, wore or believed in). But I was firm in my beliefs that Palin (though a very nice and respectable woman) simply did not belong anywhere near politics. Not only the Couric interviews but seemly every time she spoke outside of any predetermined canned responses (about being a maverick and shaking up Washington), she seemed to lack common sense and political intellect that is needed for such a high position in office.

After voting for GW Bush is 2000 (hey I made up for that in 2004 LOL) and seeing the disaster of the last 8 years, I like many Americans now put intelligence and intellect regarding America, politics and foreign affairs in the forefront in looking at potential candidates.

Palin simply without much argument to the contrary looked COMPLETELY out of her league and I predicted she wouldn't make it very far.

So what changed my opinion about her and her capabilities in politics?
"GOING ROGUE"....her book....
One word....IMPRESSIVE!

Now I don't want to bore and inundate you all with all the information from her book. But I will say Sarah Palin belongs in Politics!
She may be an outsider, she may not be the absolute brightest, intellectual, or most eloquent speaking person....but throughout her political history Sarah Palin simply gets things done.
She speaks and present things directed to her constituents (ala Reagan) in plain language and it appears that one of her main missions in life is too fight the old methods and ways of the B.S. politics as usual that runs rapid throughout Washington D.C.

And (most impressing to me) she works and fights ONLY FOR the people she was elected to serve. (Clear in many of her achievements and accomplishments in her elected positions)
I can now say that many of her faults (or what I deemed as her faults), like being what seem to be simple-minded in her views, looking to be out of her league in Washington and a complete outsider....may actually work out in her favor and ACTUALLY can set her apart.
I honestly see her as being an effective leader.

Lastly I haven't completely drunken the Palin kool-aid (I still feel her quitting as Governor of Alaska will come back to haunt her; barring her from winning any Presidential nominations 2012 and beyond)

But again I have done a complete 360 and my feelings that she would serve better as a 5th Grade Teacher than anything in Politics.

I now think she would serve very well in certain political positions (Congress, Governorship, hey maybe even President).

Sarah Palin can be a great benefit to America and is a force to be reckoned with!

POSITIVELY PALIN!

Actually you made a 180. I am not as sold. I would like to see her in the Senate before she even thinks about running for President.

Good point Shore, maybe a 180.
I used to think people who supported Palin were simple minded hardcore conservatives who couldn't spell politics.

Maybe it's Lynn Vincent, Palin's ghost writer, who deserves your admiration.

I kind of had an OMG moment when McCain tapped Palin. Then I heard her open her mouth. I honestly can't understand how anyone's opinion of her can have increased since her book. Or even since she started spouting off as VP candidate. No substance.

How can anyone want her to hold public office? She is a quitter.....couldn't even keep her big girl panties on and complete her term as gov.

C'mon......When the going gets tough........

You beat me to it. That is exactly what I was going to say. I can't believe that people can read a ghost written fan book and from that make the judgement that this woman has the capacity to lead a country.

Legitimate points HIF, its the main thing I disagree with from her and wish she hadn't done (as I said earlier it will affect her ability to be elected in the future)....

However she did quit her councilmen position (sorry forget exactly what it is called) for a lot of the same reasons she cite as to why she quit as Governor of Alaska and she still went on to be elected Mayor and Governor just a few years later.

So with that said....the ramifications of her quitting remains to be seen....

She may be able to politically recover from that

I find your "change of heart" hard to believe too.

Palin is factually challenged.........in other words, she has a teeny, tiny factual knowledge base.

Anybody can sound good in a book someone is paid to write positively about them.

You know what they say about trusting your first instinct.
