No, no they don't. In fact they rise to the occasion. Obama could be another one of those great leaders but I hesitate to say that because of his unfettered belief in government and bureaucracies. History may prove me wrong of course...

I don't think Democrats have the guts to be great leaders anymore. Reagan never apologized for his beliefs. Democrats spend too much time trying to make you think they're not too liberal.

I'm not so sure I would dismiss the human spirit so quickly. It has an affinity for for rising to the occasion and after all a label is just what it is. Its evolved over and over throughout history.

No you have not addressed this issue. Fact is no one other than hard right wingers cares and they would never vote Obama anyway. No one else cares. They simply don't. This is a complete non-issue

I seriously doubt that small percentage of the American populace speaks for the 85% who are religious.

And even if people think Obama is 'cold and aloof,' which is not reflected in polling data, that really doesn't matter--remember that we overwhelmingly re-elected Nixon who was far colder and far more aloof. What matters for incumbents is how well they do their job; when their are wars and economic crises what matters for an incumbent president is how well the economy is doing and how well foreign affairs are going. Again, what is really going to matter in 2012 is (1) how well the economy is doing and (2) how well the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are going. Those are going to be the two major issues upon which President Obama's reelection is going to hinge, barring some major incident that could occur between now and then.
Now you did it. Be careful. If you keep making rational statements like this you will start to get hatemail.

OK

Everyone who went to church on Christmas raise your hand.

OK

Everyone who didn't go to church on Christmas raise your hand.

OK.

Now tell me ....whether you went or not....did ANYTHING in your life change?

I'll start: I didn't go...nothing in my life changed.

If you don't have God in your life in the first place are you really expecting any change by following the status quo? You don't have to believe in God but don't discount those that do make that choice just because you, yourself, don't believe.

I don't know or care if he went to church. I think it is better he doesn't go if it is all for show and a photo op. We really need to leave people alone on this one, including Presidents. It's none of anybody's business.
