KAILUA, Hawaii — President Barack Obama has abruptly ended a round of golf and sped toward his family’s vacation home for what is being described as a “personal matter.” An ambulance was seen speeding toward their compound.
White House aides said the speedy departure and return to the president’s home was not a matter of national security or because of a threat to Obama’s safety.
Radio reports have indicated that there was a minor injury involving a family friend during a surfboarding accident.
Obama was playing golf when reporters who travel with him were quickly assembled for a return to the first family’s neighborhood.
Journalists saw an ambulance speed past with its lights on, heading toward the end of Obama’s street. The ambulance would have passed through a security checkpoint at the end of the street.
I would not be surprised if Obama was having a bad day at the golf course...he made a quick call on his cell phone to create an emergency to get him out of the game.
I think I would have to kill myself if my life was so empty of meaning and so devoid of contact with issues other than those involving political targets. I never see certain posters get their smile on or post in any other forum than this one. How sad. The software that restricts the amount of rep we can give to any one poster should also limit the amount of posts one can make to P&OC without posting in another forum.
This is stupid. The POTUS is not going to stop his lesure activities for every incident that happens in this country, and nobody expects that except the thread trolls who get off on criticizing him. ANYONE would naturally be concerned at something that happend to those closest to them. .
Agree 100%!
After all, did Bush interrupt one of his many vacations during hurricane Katrina?

Vacation as Usual
"On the day after Hurricane Katrina was declared to be not as bad as originally feared, it became clear that the effects of the storm had been, after all, beyond devastation," a New York Times Op-Ed announced August 31, 2005. "But this seems like the wrong moment to dwell on fault-finding, or even to point out that it took what may become the worst natural disaster in American history to pry President Bush out of his vacation."
"George Bush stayed on vacation. He didn't get back to work. When the worst natural disaster in our nation's history attacked us, George Bush STAYED ON VACATION.
I guess we're used to useless presidents in the USA. The last one fanned his a**hole on several occasions, during 9/11 and during the crisis in New Orleans, after Hurricane Katrina hit. Just goes to show how useless our politicians are......empty promises, fancy rhetoric and the same old BS.
Janet Napolitano said today she reviewed the Intelligence Reform Act 2004 when she assumed her duties as Homeland Security Director. She did not make any changes.
I'm going to say this in as kind a way possible - she is not the right person for that job.

OK, here's the plan, from now on everyone must check in a minmum of 6 hours before ETD and will be strip searched, you'll be fine with that, right? As well as paying the extra $$$ to support that program?
Or are your priorities still what they were when you whined about Obama's barrage balloon and cavalry decisions? Whine first, find facts later?

So how much money is one person, or in this case 278, worth?
