There are enough countries suffering at the hands of terrorists that one could be formed for these terrorists. Terrorism knows no boundaries and respects no borders. Have an international court for terrorists.

Then, "poof" you're a terrorist!

Good luck defending yourself.

I am fed up with this chickens##t notion of how to media's misguided bs of "politicaly correct" way to fight a war. If it's war, ACT LIKE IT! If we did and get off this misguided bs, we would already have won and our Troops wouldn't be fighting today in the s*!tholes iraq and afgan.

Pure insanity, ZGACK. You've created a loophole whereby certain human beings get to be mistreated in the most immoral ways. And you celebrate this! You have NO right to summarily execute anyone!!

Humans deserve rights. Terrorists are humans, therefore, they deserve rights.

But what exactly are terrorists? Are those who bomb pharmaceutical labs where animals are being tortured included? Are ethnic minorities who insist on sitting at the front of the bus included? Are religious minorities who tire of having their homes burned down and start burning other people's homes down included? Are people who insist their government tell the truth and protest en masse peacefully outside their government buildings included? Are innocent people who get brainwashed and tortured by organized groups to perform heinous acts included? Are terrorists only terrorists when the government tells you they are or when you think they are?

It is pure insanity to continue the vicious cycle of vengeance in the hopes of solving the problem.
ZGACK, you need to "summarily execute" your opinion upon reflection.

This is a good question. For the suspect in this case there is no doubt, and since he is not a U.S. citizen he is definitely not protected by the Constitution and it is certainly questionable whether Geneva Conventions protections apply as well.

But, the over all question of who decides who or what a terrorist is domestically is certainly one that concerns me a great deal. People need to read the Patriot Act and especially it's muscle-bound big brother the Patriot act II.

A lot of people say that you have nothing to worry about if you're not a terrorist, but the problem lies in the way that the legislation defines a terrorist. It's definition is so broad that it could apply to anybody. And if deemed a terror threat, for whatever reason no matter how spurious, it gives law enforcement the power to hold you incommunicado for an indefinite length of time.

Considering that this calls into question many of our most sacred Constitutional Rights I would think that more people would be concerned about it as well. Sure, we need to be able to fight terrorism, but with this legislation the potential for abuse is alarming.

Just a little food for thought.

Yes, he is. Fifth and Sixth are not reserved for citizens, they protect everybody under US jurisdiction. And a US-flag aircraft is under US jurisdiction when the outer doors close.

I feel pure becuase I just got back from vacation & really have no idea what you guys are talking about. Only thing I know: some dude was on a flight to Detroit from I think Amsterdam & then tried to set off "fireworks"....which was later to be found as a bomb. LOL, so from what I gather from this forum he had the goods in his butt? Classic. Sometimes it's good to go on vacation where you don't have internet access & you don't watch the news. It makes people keeerrrrr-azzzzy.

What a misinterputation of the Constitution you have!!!! The Constitution applies to Citizens only!
