Great short video to explain that our gov't is a "Constitutional Republic" not a democratic gov't, as most have been taught into believing?

Balderdash. You attempt to make it seem we're on or the other. We are both.

We are a Republic who uses a Democratic system of government.

Please.

You and I are in the minority. Did you attend private school?

Went to public school and the point that we are a republic was driven home time and time again. Mostly from my clearly left-wing Government teacher in high school.

Uh, both.

It has a republican form of government and citizens elect politicians (and in some states hold referendums) which decide policies. It fits both descriptions. It's like arguing whether LeBron James is a basketball player or black man.

Merriam-Webster

Democracy;

1 a : government by the people; especially : rule of the majority b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

Republic;

1 a (1) : a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president (2) : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government b (1) : a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law (2) : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government c : a usually specified republicangovernment of a political unit <the French Fourth Republic>

Pretty simple.

In short, a Democratic Republic.

Just as a helpful example. Great Britain is democratic, but it isn't a republic, it is a constitutional monarchy.
