Norway is a country that we'd consider "socialist" but last I checked, their unemployment rate is less than 5% (I think it's actually 2.5%), they have a national health care system, and their educational system is better. That's just a few ways they're better than us.

Some intersting things can be compared between Norway and the U.S.

Take the size of Montana.
Stretch it to look like Norway and
Put it around Juneau Alaska;
now put about 6million people in there.
Concentrate them around Juneau.
And now you've got an idea of Oslo Norway.

Juneau your comparison is just about as ridiculous as my example but mine makes much better sense.

Community Reinvestment Act was the little snowball propelled by Government Mandates (do it or else rules!!!) that slowly made its way down the mountain that turned into this avalanche of Bank and Insurance company bailouts, FNMAE bailout, FMAC bailout, car-company bailouts, home-foreclosures, bankruptcies, unemployment and trillions in new debt, the debacle that we are dealing with now.
