Would you be as vehementy supportive of her firing if she would have sent the "Bush as Satan", "Bush as a Chimpanzee" or "Bush with the Hitler mustache" photoshops that were flying around a few years ago?

This might be a good and legal way to reduce the bloated size of the Federal workforce.

They should audit every Fed employee's email accounts and sack those that haven't played strictly by the rules.

Plus it would open up some positions for those unemployed who are more truly deserving of such good jobs.

My question is, is the content the problem . is every employee fired who sends a joke. If every employee is being fired for sending any joke then so should this one. So if the policy applied to all yes fire her. If the policy is only being applied because of the content, then it would be wrong to fire her

If you have a job, you know there are work rules at every place of employment. They tend to be monitored like traffic rules, e.g., if you're caught, you're toast! Yes, others send jokes and other personal e-mails, and if they get caught, they'll face the consequences, too.

Duh, if you don't know anything about cultural behavior, don't comment on it.
K?

At 73, she should have been retired anyway.

It is not government business either. You can't have it both ways.

Again I say, personal use IS allowed by some governments.. In this case we need to know which governemnt entity she worked for and the rules for that entity.

It is considered government business because it is comprised of government members doing business with the government.
How many governments are you familiar with?
We don't need to know anything about someone else and what occurs.
Please tell me about what government entities allow blatantly racial emails to be sent via their systems?
One would do.

I do, however, believe that the OP should have mentioned "state" rather than the ambiguous "government" as on this board it implies federal.

It really doesn't matter whether or not you associate it with being racist, it is. Your ignorance doesn't excuse others' racism.
