Obama shoeshine e-mail has Colorado transportation worker in hot water - KDVR (http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-obama-shoe-shine-boy-123109,0,190823.story - broken link)
Quote:
A Colorado Department of Transportation employee could face discipline for forwarding an email with a photo depicting President Barack Obama shining the shoes of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The 73-year-old woman, whose name was not released, forwarded the email to at least four co-workers, among other people, on Dec. 22 using her state email account. At least one recipient complained.
The person who originally sent the e-mail, who isn't a state employee, wrote "It appears he (Obama) has found his niche."
I think it is ironic that it has been stated," There are rules against using govt. email for personal use", which is not always the case, but taxpayer dollars pay for all union phones, voicemail computers etc. at the fed level.
Some public employees do not realize that anything sent on their public funded e-mails are subject to be published if a newspaper, for instance, chooses to publish it. I think that firing the employee is a little harsh, but the employee certainly needs to be educated as to what proper use of the e-mail would be.
Pretty silly stuff. That photo-image-cartoon was out during the campaign as I recall. Get over it.
I thought I had seen that thing and not recently, either.
