Hmmm.
Well, I'm glad the 2nd Amendment is finally getting the respect it deserves.

Go Texas!

The CIA has also been crippled by government legal prosecution for using what they feel are harsh investigative techniques.

Political correctness is rampant in the FBI, CIA and the Military - which is one reason they can't and won't protect us. Yes - they will react to a devastating attack - with restraint - but they won't stop serious attacks...

Too many in these organizations are afraid to speak up and act - they don't want to lose their pensions...

Sad observation - but an accurate one - I believe.

Nobody, not even the president, knows how many there are, who they are, or how much money they have.

I for one don't think we'll do what is necessary until we are hit much much harder than we were on 9/11. And I am virtually positive that within my lifetime, we will be hit by a devastating WMD attack.
I'm afraid you are correct there HubbleRules. We've been lucky so far and I do mean lucky rather than on the ball with security.

I'm sure no one wants to read something like this happening in the US:

SUV bomb kills 88 at Pakistan ball game - The Irish Times - Sat, Jan 02, 2010

"A suicide bomber blew himself up in an SUV at a volleyball game in northwest Pakistan yesterday, killing 88 people in a village that opposes al-Qaeda-linked Taliban insurgents, police said."

Somehow I think that the 2nd amendment is not in play here.
A rocket launcher ? What was he going to do..deer hunting where the entire deer is blown to smithereens ?
Although we do have a problem with feral pigs which are hard to take down.

You don't need a hunting permit to bare an arm or your teeth.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Officers and Agents are different entities. You are correct that no one but the CIA has an idea how many Agents are out there, but i'm pretty sure that those who "need to know" are apprised of how many CIA Officers there are. Someone hired them, someone cuts them a paycheck.

CIA Officer - employed by the CIA
CIA Agent - recruited by the CIA but not employed by the CIA

Paid in cash (agents).

When an officer is fired, he/she comes back as an agent - and he/she may or may not be "helpful" to the person who fired her/him.
