Now I think her being transgendered doesn't have anything to do with her qualifications, but I know how Obama works. He has been worried about 2012 that he is trying to appeal to everybody. He nominated Sonia Sotomayor to appeal to the hispanics, and to get more of their votes for liberals/democrats in the future. He appointed Hillary Clinton to appeal to Hillary fans and women. He appointed Janet Napolitano (who I think wasn't the best pick) just to appeal to Italians and get more votes from AZ. He appointed Eric Holder to appease blacks, which hasn't really worked IMO. Now he is in a little bit of hot water with the GLBT community, so he now does this. I see his pattern...he is trying to get his crew diversified and I have no problem with that...I am just wondering is he picking the best qualified people...and I have a problem with some of his pics.
If she/he was the most qualified candidate for the position, after a nationwide search of course, then I have no complaints.
However, I am getting a little weary of this administration's preoccupation with making "history".
I've honestly never understood why transgender issues are lumped in with sexual orientation. They aren't even related.
