No, it's that Americans have this irrational overreaction to terrorism related deaths. Right now the equivalent number of people as were on the underwear bomber's plane are dying every day from the flu. Young and old. Do you see much freak out over this? A whole lot of news stories? No. Why? Because people respond to the sensational more than to the routine, regardless of the actual impact. That's irrational.

Let me see if I understand the question.
You want to know whether the 2 plane crashes or a war killed more civilians?
Really?

Well, let's see....

if you figure an Iraqi is worth about 1/100th of an American's life, the math works.

Yep...and those innocents are REALLY innocent.

Makes you kind of wonder, doesn't it?...

There always seems to be a die-hard 25% who keep on supporting the policies of death and destruction a la Bush style. Why is this? A vocal minority, to be sure...

And, BTW, didn't Bush promise the RW evangelicals to do something about abortion? Just another lie...but it worked.

Maybe a better poll would be:
Which has resulted in more deaths of US Citizens?
A. 911
B. The Swine flu
C. Murders committed by illegals
Well C is the clear cut correct answer. And by a wide margin. And yet our elected reps don't seem to have the heart burn over that like they did when they voted for war.
How many Rapes by terrorists as compared to illegals?
Victims of drunk illegals driving without a license or insurance?
ID Theft?
Whoa still no heartburn.
What did 911 cost us ? How much does illegal immigration cost us?
I think our elected reps have had their eye on the wrong ball.
Now the cost of these wars could have done a lot here at home for every citizen.
I wonder. Why is it so important to stick our noses in other peoples business again?
I have no heart ache with going after afghanistan They after all were harboring those responsible for 911. Iraq however was none of our business.

Aux contrare my friend. There has been quite the hulabaloo over the flu this year. Do you own a television? Does a friend of yours have one? About a month ago thats all you heard about, enough hysteria to warrant the NYS senate to push an emergency measure that all healthcare workers be vaccinated. Mandatory. Period.

And the difference is we are being killed by people who hate us, people who look like us, what we smell like. And it's not a new phenomenon, they've hated us for quite a while now, look up winston churchill. He might have something to do with why people in the ME dislike westerners. And he's just a start, so people who feel that G-dub is the sole reason we are disliked are delusional and short sighted.

I do CT in an east end hospital and I get at least one a shift. Drunk, illegal and getting free HC. If they didn't hurt someone else. Luckily most of the time they just play ping-pong with the cars on Main st, or knock out a tree.

Actually, it was more like 2.5 months ago. Also, the CDC stopped differentiating between seasonal flu and swine flu a long time ago. Each year seasonal flu kills around 36K people. I think the toll is at 10K right now, and we're in January, just to correct your information. And NYS backed off, didn't happen.

And we are not being killed by people who hate us, or are we? I ask you, friend, if your country (the US) were to be descended upon by the world's Superpower, would you pick up a gun? Would that make you a freedom fighter or insurgent?

Critical thinking skills people, critical thinking skills are at times in short supply...

And...it's Au Contraire...
