As if we didn't have enough things going on killing the middle class.
The GOP is NOT on the side of Corporate interests and ON the side of the middle class.
That's why they with the help of Conservative Blue Dog Dems they were able to bargain against any sacrifice on the part of drug companies, hospitals, insurance companies, doctors in this health bill.

I constantly criticized this bill and if I had it my way, we would have a single-payer system. The health care bill is not reform.
More reason to raise the minimum wage. There's no reason why Wal-Mart jobs can't be good-paying jobs.
The minimum wage would have to be pretty high to make up for the fact that many of their workers don't receive health insurance.
Plus health insurance doesn't equal health care.
Wal-Mart, like many other businesses, is moving towards high-deductible health insurance plans and studies have shown those with high-deductible plans tend to delay going to the doctor and are less likely to seek preventive medical procedures.

Nope..I was talking to all the folks that were for the bill "even if it wasn't perfect". They know who they are.

High deductible plans have their place but not for minimum wage people.
I have high deductible plans for all my insurances (health, auto, home) but I can afford that and opt for a lower premium knowing full well the amount I'd have to pay out of pocket should I need to.
Yes. Raising minimum wage. The answer to all of societies problems.
I never said it's the answer to all or even a few of society's problems. It's just a good and simple intervention in a capitalist economy to help maintain a basic standard of living for people who are working.
