To some, bashing is sport and might even be all there is for them; they may not be interested in anything but the sport, no interest in finding solutions to problems because the time required causes them to lapse into boredom.

Bashing is a good start sometimes, though the term constructive criticism would be more widely used if constructive criticism occurred more frequently. Bashing has to eventually lead into constructive criticism or it’s of no consequence beyond causing blood pressures to rise. The stages beyond constructive criticism can yield the great ideas.

Many call constructive criticism, "bashing," including those that support the ill-faited foreign policies currently in use. No matter how much reality says otherwise, no matter how many experts say otherwise, they are labeled bashers or anti-American or the shameless, "they're harming our troops."

Other ideas have been offered even as bleak as this situation is, but none will be heard.

He should have called it "How to Kill More Trees with Very Little Thought"

Way to stay green Al!

I find it amusing how this discussion has centered on environment and global warming, as if that's all that Gore is known for. This book is about the fact that a significant segment of our citizens no longer use the reasoning abilities they were born with. In massive irony, the discussions by the Gore-bashers on this thread prove his point.

And what gives Gore the expertise to pen a book on reasoning? Some would question some of his reasoning. . . .
Maybe Tipper is trying to keep him busy. . Next, after he loses his extra girth will he write a book on diet and exercise tips?

Spunky1,

You wrote: "And what gives Gore the expertise to pen a book on reasoning? Some would question some of his reasoning. . . .”

And the expertise Hannity has in writing “Deliver Us From Evil”?

You wrote: “Maybe Tipper is trying to keep him busy. . Next, after he loses his extra girth will he write a book on diet and exercise tips?"

And speaking of bashing . . . Maybe a category for dark humor should be added to this forum.

Its not all Gore is known for. But it is what he is on TV for, and what he flies around the country for, and what Hollywood has crowned him as an environmental god for his propaganda film.

The real irony is that Al Gore preys upon people with a lack of ability to reason. Which is why I find this tree consuming book he wrote yet one more irony.

Oh, wait, let me guess. He purchased offsets through the company he is part owner of for the trees his book will destroy.

Again proving Gore's point, science is tossed out in favor of baselesswingnut talking points. Those in the anti-science crowd here must also be with the 3 GOP candidates who recently raised their hand to announce that they don't believe in science, but I guess why would you when your God is Exxon?

One could argue that his new book is appropriately titled just by the fact that his earlier one, "An Inconvenient Truth" is possibly the greatest assault on reason this country has seen in a very long time!

So much hate and inability to talk about things outside of 2 party politics, how do you do it?
