I'm amazed I'm the first to post this one:

Quote:
Tony Blair's Predecessor Criticizes Him Over Iraq War

John Major says the current inquiry into the war raises some very big, important questions regarding the British government's stated aims for invading Iraq.

I'm especially amazed by the following:

Quote:
"The argument that Saddam Hussein was a bad man and therefore must be removed simply will not do," he added. "There are many bad men around the world who run countries and we do not topple them. And indeed, in earlier years we had actually supported Saddam when he was fighting against Iran. So, the argument that someone is a bad man is an inadequate argument for war and certainly an inadequate and unacceptable argument for regime change."
Wow. I don't think I've ever heard an American politician actually able and willing to construct a syllogism.

John Major was a bit of a wet blanket, but he wasn't a bad PM. Certainly better than Tony B-liar.

Day late and a dollar short. Where was this side of John Major 8 years ago?

"In the beginning of a change,
the patriot is a scarce and brave man,
hated and scorned.
When his cause succeeds however,
the timid join him,
for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."
