That's pretty much what I believe. Regardless on whether or not you get your child to stop.

I spent 10 yrs. working with emotionally disturbed kids and juvenile delinquents in residential treatment. Never once did any of those kids have reason to fear me but they sure did grow to respect me . Disciplining my 7 yr. old is a breeze comparatively. Never once have I felt the need to hit her to teach her anything. One thing I'm sure of, if I ever hit her, it would be a failure on my part as a parent and mentor. Respect has nothing to do with fear or physical pain.

Spanking by my father made me & my brothers fight even more; the very reason my father was whipping us. It didn't work and made us even more angry & we finally stood up to our dad. People who think it is ok to hurt kids are disturbed like my dad was & need counseling.

Well, lets get this straight: You are the one who has the issue with it. I don't. So I see no spin.

Clinical settings are just that. Clinical settings. Not real life.

Disciplining any 7 year old should be easy.

I found parenting the single most difficult thing I've ever done. Still do.

Hell yes. Spanking kids work. I got spanked and I am sooo much better off than so many people in my age range.

It is pathetic. I am not saying to go overboard and beat the **** out of your kids. Do it when needed or else they will be little animals.

That's a crock. Countless children have been raised successfully with getting spanked

Spanking is easy. It's quick and frankly thoughtless and far too often done in anger..

Disciplining without spanking requires thought. THAT is why it's not all that popular with many.

Huh? What bobbing and weaving? Just the facts.

Not my problem you can't see anything other than what you think is the only way to do something.
