the way a country defends itself from terrorism is the million dollar question here.
do we ignore the benefits of profiling (while continuing to target american civilians with searches and increasingly more invasive procedures) while, at the same time, we are engaged in a war where we send soldiers to another country, WHICH IS NOTHING BUT PROFILING?
what we need is some kind of consistent policy in this country. we are all over the map on everything, health care / war / security/ economic reform.
i don't think that asking those questions is "politicizing terror"......
To you perhaps. But in reality it is a very complex situation that requires a great deal of work, intelligence and understanding. When the GOP go on a full attack complaining that Obama didn't respond "quick enough" (Despite that Bush took nearly a week for an identical incident) after the fact, it's counter-productive, cheap and a waste of time. Politicizing terrorism is a slap in the face to those who died in attacks prior and their families. We need leaders, not liars whose only thought is knee jerk reactions to rally their base.
You don't think that Janet Napolitano's remark that "the system worked" deserved some kind of rejoinder?
We could start by ceasing our wanton killing of non combatants in Muslim countries just because they live close to suspected “terrorists”.
I am certain that the warmongers and suppliers have enough control of our policy to keep the wars going forever. These people consider the victims, either our servicemen or indigenous people, are a very small price for other people, mostly lower class, to pay to keep the gravy train running for the suppliers.
IMHO we need to get out of the Middle East, South Asia, Central and South America and anywhere else our troops are the thugs protecting the tyrants. If our companies want to invest our money overseas they can pay for their own protection. I am very annoyed by Senator Lieberman’s continuous warmongering for the Zionists of Israel. They are big boys and can take care of themselves.

Boy, did you nail it! People don't seem to grasp that our interference in other countries causes the hatred, and not our wealth, freedom or religion. Lieberman is clearly experiencing an identity crisis, and is just willing to go with status quo.
I guess all of hussein obama's sucking up has done nothing. He has come off as the weakest president in the history of America, as we all knew it would. He has asked for beefed up security at foreign airports and they all told him to kick dirt.
See you're still politicizing and repeating GOP talking points. No critical thinking, just trollish non-sense with no basis in reality.

"YOU LIE!"
Amsterdam was asked to beef up their security checks after it was suppressed by the Bush administration for the convenience of the American international traveler.
Nothing disgusted me more than when the GOP used horrible video and images from 9/11 for political gain and fear at their Convention last year. Absolutely disgusting. Nothing makes me angrier than politicians using 9/11 for political gain. Lowest of the low.
It's about as dumb as using someone's middle name to infer that person is a terrorist. As if somehow others can't see through such a childish and infantile act?
