Those words, however, are quoted from a translation of de Vattel that first appeared in 1797, 10 years after the Constitution’s ratification. Did the framers know Vattel’s work in the French? If so, there is a problem because the literal phrase “natural-born citizen” is not present in the original French which says:

Les Naturels ou indigènes font ceux qui font nés dans le pays de Parens Citoyens.

For those who don’t speak French, the word “citizen” (Citoyen) appears only ONCE in the sentence."

- dr conspiracy.

he was not questioning the fact that many of the founding fathers spoke and read french but the fact that if they had read de vattel's in the original french available at the time it does not have the direct translation of " natural born citizen ".

Yeah but, we DID have to fight a war with the British when they tried conscripting our sailors as British subjects.

You don't want to see our PRESIDENT conscripted to the British, do you?

Any non-parent can give whatever info they want to and get a Hawaiian birth certificate for a child. There is absolutely no requirement or process for verifying the information given.
That is not true, even according to this tiny out of context snippet of law you quoted. It refers to someone having knowledge of the birth. Do you really think Hawaii is operating like some third world country, totally out of sync with the rest of the US? That is patently absurd. As was posted earlier, either in this thread or another birther thread, every illegal alien would go to Hawaii and get a Hawaiian birth certificate if this were so. This is off the deep end.

The governor of Hawaii has validated the birth certificate.

In the end the "birthers" will laugh loudest and Miss Nancy will run around telling everyone that she never claimed the POTUS was a US citizen. I can't wait.

to date the birthers are 67-0 in the court cases and there hasn't been any recent evidence added to their claims that would convince a court ( or more importantly congress ). it ain't looking good on the last laugh thing.

  • The first is "Missing Movement" a serious crime in the nature of a felony for failing to deploy to Afghanistan.
  • The second is disobeying a direct order, and there are four specifications (separate instances) of this charge. Any soldier convicted on all charges and specifications would expect to be sentenced to years at "hard labor" in the penitentiary.
