Anybody else see the irony here? I mean, really? A strike? Do they know what the word "strike" means? It really sounds like more of a boycott to me anyway.
These people don't seem like the sharpest tools in the shed. Anybody on here going to, err, strike on the 20th?

Tea Partiers are against wasteful government spending, especially in an economy where our government has to borrow and print money just to sustain itself. Continuing this neverending nanny-state where corporations/states/individuals are looking for big daddy to bail them out CANNOT sustain itself. When will we stop borrowing and printing money? When the dollar is worth $0.00?? When China calls their loans due? When the economy completely crashes? It's already happening on the state level. Already 15 States are in SEVERE budgetary calamity and going to be looking for government bailouts or be faced with making cuts to state pensions, slashing services, etc. Where will the government get the money to give to these states so that they can pay teachers, police, fire, DOT, etc...
I don't expect the corporate recipients of government welfare to bite the hand that feeds them. But eventually that hand is going to fall off the dead body that has become our government.
I agree that it sounds more like a boycott; however, I wasn't aware that liberals had retained ownership of the ability to "strike."
No one insinuated that they did. But strikes and protests and boycotts have traditionally been something that Liberals have done in this country, because we have had so little real power. As a Liberal myself, it shows that we are actually making some progress when white, gun-toting conservatives are "mad as hell" and demanding things like government keeping its hands off of their Medicaid. I LOVE these protests, and I LOVE Sarah Palin. I hope this crap keeps up!

Of course you mean peaceful political demonstrations without the violence and without the drugs that hallmarked those of the 1960s. Demostrations that included people of all ages from school aged children to senior citizens, and not simply the disenfranchised youth who had done nothing productive to give back to society as were the demonstraters of the 1960's.

From the videos and photos of the teabaggers, I see disenfranchised senior citizens who were, at one time, disenfranchised youths of the 1060s. They are doing what they do best, nothing and protesting!
