"Scott Lively, one of three evangelicals who went to Uganda in 2009 to preach against gays, says he doesn’t support Uganda’s bill that would punish homosexuality by life imprisonment or death. Nevertheless, he said, on my radio show Monday night, it’s “a step in the right direction.”"

I still remember all those Republicans who got caught hooking up with men. Although they strongly opposed any gay rights. That tells you something about him. And what about that Reverent ( don't really recall what exactly he was ) last year who admitted to having sex with men. I saw him on Larry King with his wife. He still tried to tell people how "wrong homosexuality is" Lol. I don't remember the name, but it was in the media. It's always the same.

Not surprising. This is what the GOP has been transitioning to for years.

This is just another example of why the Evangelical movement is just the American Taliban. Just like the Taliban uses their faith to deny civil rights to women, the Evangelicals use their faith to deny rights and/or mistreat homosexuals.

There is no place for religion in a civilized society.

Great story in the New York Times about the three scumbags posing as "christians" who set this nonsense in motion and how they are doing everything in their power to try to distance themselves from their evangelism.

In fairness to the man, he did not call "Uganda’s “kill the gays” bill “a step in the right direction""...

"He told Colmes he does not agree with the legislation’s prescriptions of life imprisonment or capital punishment for gays in certain circumstances, and he does not think parliament will pass the measure as currently written. Pressed by the host about what he would consider appropriate punishment, Lively said only that he does not favor incarceration for gays and that society should encourage heterosexual marriage."

It would help to know all of what was said and in what context. If he actually praised the killing of gays then he is being anti-Christian in doing so.

Although their ideas are dangerous, I don't feel threatened by them. I think their numbers are shrinking - at least in the U.S. - and their anti-gay sentiments are being seen by more and more people as part of the extreme, lunatic fringe.

the one from the mega church in CO Springs? IMO it would be so much better for everyone involved if he'd allowed himself to come out earlier in life, settled down with a partner... but, no... Ted Haggard! Just remembered his name!

Yes he did. Listen to the first 20 seconds of the audio clip on this page:

Alan Colmes' Liberaland » Rev. Scott Lively: Uganda Anti-Gay Bill “A Step In The Right Direction”

If your ears are working, you can hear him say it very clearly.
