Does it really matters? I think you'd be better off asking yourself why both parties continue to court Joe Lieberman, an awoved Zionist and friend of Israel.
In politics you are supposed to be loyal.... well he is, but not to the Dems or the Republicans. Why they trust him is very curious indeed.

I have no idea what religion the majority of the House of Representatives and the Senate attend, I don't know what religion the president is, nor do I care. My best estimate that the only overwheming group in charge of government are Males. In some instances, testosterone and power do not mix well.

Maybe because he really IS trying to do a good job, and is loyal to his principles, which many politicians have left behind and traded in for loyalty to their party?
