No, the OP (this T500 or whatever). There were previous posters by the name of Indurain and Pamky who would go into threads and bash Americans-though nothing as hostile as this.

The things I said were referring to the americans that do not care about the rest of the world and many confirmed that. Never did I say all Americans are stupid and never ever have I written posts like the OP with name-calling and such.
Also, contrary to you, I usually don`t speak about other posters in my posts.

In most countries, healthcare isn't about money, yet being an advocate of free healthcare won't get you labeled a Communist. In the United States, you are gradually giving away all power to corporations; corporations who have more power than elected politicians. You are so brainwashed into believing that you are the freest nation on earth, when in fact, you are one of the most repressed and controlled nations in the western world, working longer hours than most places, while having your lives dictated to you, with any deviance or bad decision punished to the max. Your hatred for so-called "liberals" is reminiscent of pre-WW2 Nazi Germany....keep going down that road and see where it leads you.

Corporations survive only if they provide a good product that people want. If the government limits where and how corporations work then the people are forced to buy only what the government allows them.
You need look no further than our Deceleration of Independence to see why government should not be in the power grab it's going for now.

So yes, I agree with you a little bit. We are moving towards losing our freedoms because some people would rather give them up for a little security. They would yield those freedoms to some bureaucrats in a far off distant place because, apparently, they think those bureaucrats care about them. Those bureaucrats only care about one thing, power.

I'm an American. I also have many conservative friends (although the smart rational kind, yes there are many). But yes, being a "liberal" leaner (although by no means a liberal), I just do not see why anyone would be agaisnt single-payer government-run health insurance. The pros greatly outweigh the cons ... by far. I hate that we dismiss this idea as a country.
Let me explain. There are two competing philosophies at work (and at war) in America: statism and individualism. Statism is the belief that government can and should solve all our problems. Individualism believes that, given maximum freedom, individuals can better take care of their own needs. Individualism is not anarchistic. In other words it does understand the need for government--in its proper sphere and strictly circumscribed. That is the underpinning of the American experiment and all of our founding documents from the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution. Abraham Lincoln was firmly rooted in and committed to the individualist philosophy and expressed it thusly: government should only do for people what people cannot do for themselves. There are very few things that people cannot do for themselves. But more and more government (statism) has taken upon itself the right and power to do things for people that they can and should be doing for themselves. By doing so government makes dependents of its citizenry, keeping them in a perpetual state of political and economic childhood. But as we have seen when government purports to act outside its proper sphere of authority it generally makes a hash of things. I can't think of a single welfare program operated by government that isn't bloated, inefficient, corrupt and bankrupt. The statist in you wants to create another such monstrous bureaucracy. The individualist in me says get government out of healthcare entirely and let us create systems that truly meet our needs as individuals rather than the one-size-fits-all government solution. The statist in you says people can't solve such a huge problem without government intervention. The individualist in me says "Si se puede. Yes we can."
