You can treat something with respect while disliking it immensely. As I said, do you think those officers merited my respect because of who they were? Hell no! The only thing to respect was their position, not the men.

I love how the OP plays innocent too. It is so funny. We all know exactly how loving the right are.
And I love how the liberals try to set up their own rules and pretend that they are universal.

Respect the position? Yes.

Respect the man? Why? He has lied, misled and ignored the wishes of those who elected him.

Of course we all know that the left can never admit to any wrong performed by one of their own.

To get any respect, the government has to earn it just like anyone else. So far, epic failure.

Then the same can be said about Obama. Is that what you are saying?

You never, in the company of your contemporaries complained about these alleged officers of yours?

I thought so.

I wasn't big at socializing with my crewmates. Kept my own counsel.

You know this. And yet you persist. There can only be ONE reason that you refuse to refer to the man by the name he was GIVEN and his preferred name NOW.

It's disrespectful and your intent is to show your disrespect for the man.

---" you refuse to refer to the man by the name he was GIVEN "--

Some of do use his GIVEN name

Riiiiighttttt. You never spoke to crewmates except in the line of duty. How long did you serve? You must have had a really good time of it.

So they both have issues. Just so happens that both of them let their "issues" motivate them each to destroy American buildings and take American lives.

So what exactly are you suggesting that I am getting "confused" here???

It doesn't matter whether or not Timothy McVeigh every fought for his country - that counts for nothing after what he did. Even Judas one time served Jesus, but once he betrayed Him, Judas was condemned and none of his good works count for anything. I don't expect that you will understand this, though, because in my experience most right-wingers don't know the first thing about Jesus Christ, not even the ones who claim to be Christians (they're phonies).
