Video: Even Better Than the Real Thing | The Daily Show | Comedy Central

The good old days for me would be the late 80s or early 90s I guess. Lots of good cartoons, Nintendo, and those awesome toys in happy meals.

Glenn Beck is hysterical. Chances are he wouldn't even know who Mean Joe was if not for that commercial.

I didn't think you were very old, Joe. To me the good old days would be the 1950s while I was in college and the Army. Those were 7 or 8 of the best years of my life and none of the things you mentioned were in existence, yet.

You were in college in the 1950s? Wow, you are older than I thought.

This segment was brilliant!

The good 'ol days were only good for white men - who happen to be the ones constantly calling for a return to those days.

PS: How can ANYONE take Beck seriously??

John Oliver was very clever (or whoever wrote the segment). Life is simple for kids. And that might be what we all want in the end.

However, I still feel that these are good days. I'm one of the few I bet

I expect my "good ol' days" will start when I retire and have an income without having to spend any time earning it.

That, too, may be part of the problem of the yearning for the good old days. Kids do not have to shoulder adult responsibilities. It's easy to look back and think everything was great when you were a kid.

Nastalgia for times that did not exist in the fashion that we pretend is pretty common. Using any reasonable, Western, educated moral guide you wish, today is undoubtedly the greatest time to be alive in human history.
