a fluke?

I know we felt this in Denver, awesome 70 degree days in February!

Warming, in this case, is evidence of GHCN v3.2.0.

The Arctic connection and the polar vortex: A look at recent North American winters
Winters have generally been warming faster than other seasons in the United States and recent research indicates that climate change is disrupting the Arctic and ice around the North Pole. The Arctic summer sea ice extent broke all records during the end of the 2012 sea ice melt season.

Some researchers are pointing to a complex interplay between Arctic sea ice decline, ocean patterns, upper winds, and the shifting shape of the jet stream that could lead to extreme weather in various portions of northern mid-latitudes — such that some places get tons of snow repeatedly and others are unseasonably warm.

Well yes. All evidence does point to global warming. The effects of a weaker polar vortex and the shifting of the jetstream has been observed.

No religious beliefs required.

What am I making up? You have previously referenced the NIPCC 'report' on a number of occasions, have you not?

Here:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/searc...rchid=16148041

Where do you think the NIPCC 'report' comes from?

When you've read Prof Spencer Weart's AIP article and watched the Prof Richard Alley lecture, I'll happily discuss them.

If you really want to learn some facts about climate science, then read the rest of the articles about the history of the science behind global warming on the AIP website- and the cited research from the academic science Journals.

http://www.aip.org/history/climate/index.htm#contents

If you prefer to delude yourself with disinformation and propaganda funded by the fossil fuel industry and people with vested interest like the Koch brothers, then stick with the NIPCC report from the Heartland Institute, or science denier blogs.

I love how the same wing-nuts blow these threads up over and over.

They don't accept massive amounts of evidence toward something like climate change, yet they typically believe in a magic sky genie that dictates there meaningless lives with absolutely no proof whatsoever.

The only way this is possible is if an individual is stupid. There's just simply no other way for such nonsense to occur.

From your link...

"In New Zealand the mountain glaciers have been in general retreat since 1890, with an acceleration of this retreat since 1920."

Between 1850 and 1890, atmospheric CO2 concentrations increased from 285.2 ppm to 294.4 ppm, or about a 3% increase in forty years.

I find it difficult to conclude glacial retreat in New Zealand was initiated by a 3% increase in CO2.

I find it difficult to believe a nearly identical 1% increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrations from 1890 to 1920 caused an acceleration of glacial retreat.

Any thoughts on GHCN v3.2.0?

And there's a fine example of the bad cases of projection disorder that is characteristic of leftist mental illness.

That's the problem with cherry-picking instead of looking at all the factors involved - you never get the whole picture. What else was happening? eg black carbon reducing the albedo of the glaciers.
