Would a true Tea Party patriot drop nearly $1,600 in donor money for a small meal at a fancy steakhouse? Robin Stublen says no, and he's mad as hell about the profligate expenditures of a GOP political organization that has glommed on to his grassroots movement. Stublen is the organizer of the Punta Gorda, Florida, Tea Party and a member of Tea Party Patriots, a national grassroots organization that has no offices, no president, raises virtually no money, operates largely on volunteer efforts, and, most important, doesn't endorse candidates. But unbeknownst to many, there's another outfit claiming ownership of this conservative movement. It's called the Tea Party Express, and it has dominated Fox News coverage over the past year with its multistate bus tours and political rallies.
Quote:
For Stublen the pricey Chops tab is only the latest evidence that Tea Party Express is trying to capitalize on the movement for crass and self-serving political purposes—mainly as a fundraising machine for Republican causes
Quote:
All this has made Stublen one of Tea Party Express' loudest critics. "I don't like what I think they stand for," he says. "These are my opinions, but the bottom line, personally, I think they want to take over the movement, make it their own, and take over the fundraising potential to get their candidates elected." And in his view, there's nothing grassroots about that.

It is time for that old boy to get on or get off the pot. I don't think that he is right, but then he doesn't like a bigger organization taking away his thunder.

The Tea Parties have always been a way to liberate the disposable income from the gullible and easily led right into the pockets of those preaching that know how to play them like a fiddle. No matter how nice or nasty the plan is, or who is playing the fiddle now, I really admire those who do it expertly. Even better is to get those who are played to defend them without logical or rational reason, keeping people whipped up emotional propaganda while keeping them from looking at the hard financial numbers while news stories pile up about it.

It figures that would be your response anything for your beloved {R} party. You know and I have proved to you that the tea party movement was hijacked by the GOP.When it first started it was a LBT conservative movement to get their message out and grow by attracting {D}s and {R}s.Mostly organized by Paul supporters and like minded groups.
Now it is nothing but a front group for the {R} party and their is nothing grass roots about it.How can it be grass roots when you have imbecelic talking heads like Beck and Hannity as part of the movement?
How is it grass roots when Palin is going to get paid 100,000 bucks to speak at one of the tea parties?
Their is nothing grass roots that comes out of the mouths of the above just usual {R} rhetoric and slamming Obama.
I laugh right along with the {D}s that refer to people in the movement as tea baggers it is befitting.

Did you read the article? It's people they interviewed. Clearly you didn't read it.

A left winger making fun of a right winger for be gullible.

Now that is the craziest thing I have read on this board ever.

Follow the leader types are always left wingers.

Do as I tell you and follow me is the dems motto. Come on the DNC did not even allow you to select your own candidate.

In one thread you brag about the tea party turn out, and in the next you claim the above. Too funny.

Anyway, the subject obviously bothers you and you are trying (as usual) to deflect.
