Obama awards $2.3 bln clean energy tax credits

U.S. President Barack Obama unveiled a $2.3 billion tax credit on Friday to boost jobs by promoting clean energy, as new data showed the country's unemployment rate remained stuck in the double digits.

Obama said the credit, from funds earmarked under a $787 billion stimulus package he signed last February, would create 17,000 U.S. jobs and be matched by an additional $5 billion in private capital.

Questions

1. Why is Bush and Big Oil bad, and Obama and Big Green good? Isn't Obama propping up profits for those who head these ventures?

2. Why should insurance companies and doctors be stigmatized for making profits, but not Big Green? Both are saving lives aren't they?

3. Is there proven technology that operate on such a large scale?

4. Why do they get a tax credit to stimulate jobs, but the rest of private business must flounder for itself - and in some cases have their costs increased by government? This proves that they KNOW how to expand business - but choose not to do this for everyone else.

The tax credits have been granted to 183 projects across the country involved in technologies that include solar, wind and other initiatives to improve energy efficiency.

...

Companies that will benefit from the clean energy tax credit include Itron Inc (ITRI.O), based in Liberty Lake, Washington, PPG Industries, Inc (PPG.N), based in Pittsburgh, and TPI Composites, Inc, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. (Reporting by Alister Bull; Editing by Peter Cooney)

Regarding my question 4 above, check this out - from the article...

Obama held a jobs summit and met with bankers last month to boost lending to small businesses in the hope that would encourage them to hire more workers.

So Big Green gets tax credits and small business has to go through the banks for more money where they will be subject to interest. Great.

Um, excuse me but has anyone told Mr. Obama (The Constitutional professor) that it is the job of Congress to propose and create legislation like tax laws?
