Why do you think the best-educated states generally vote for Democrats?

As a NJ'an I can tell you that it's our least educated that keep voting in the Democratic Machine hacks.

We're one of the so-called "wealthiest states" in the US and our fiscal condition ranks down there with CA.

Care to explain that?

I find it hard to believe these are the 10 best educated states. Maine's largest industry is seasonal tourism. That doesn't draw a lot of PhD's. Vermont's smartest residents are only residents during ski season. New Jersey? Jesus, don't even get me started on that state. Wisconsin? Have you ever BEEN to Wisconsin? Not buying it. Montana: Where men are men, and sheep are afraid.
