I seriously doubt that political fall-out from the earthquake was on the radar screen at the White House this week because most people there don't think with their asses.
I respect your moral optimism, but think you're naive. These people, all of them, are shells, completely engulfed in cynicism to the point where I doubt it even registers momentarily that "real people" are dying. I bet the first thought that crossed Rahm's mind when he heard of the earthquake was a political one. In saying this, I voted for Obama and would vote for him again.
Doesn't matter if he was snarking at Reid with the light-and-dark-skinned comment or not. Take that out of the sentence and he is doing nothing but alleging that Obama is acting strictly from a political agenda and that is a blatently ridiculous statement aimed at -- as always -- trying to make everything partisan.
Don't you people ever think about what he says? He just insulted the generosity of our country and ever one of us citizens. And you applauded it.
Yep. A crisis is a crisis and as Rahm said you can't afford to let a good go without using it. I think they intend to talk daily about this one to keep the minds of Americans off the health care bills and the possibility that they are going to use that one for their own good.

That attempted terrorist attack came a hair's breath away from murdering 300-400 people in the skies over Detroit, and who knows how many more on the ground. Once again, these were American citizens, and 0bama did not bother to soothe people's nerves about an attempted terror attack for days. But when a disaster hits another country, he is Johnny on the spot.
Why did he instantly react to one situation, and dither in the other? Simple, it looked like he might be guilty for a systemic failure in one situation, and could be made to looked like the knight in shining armor in the other situation.
Bush "caused" Katrina? That's ridiculous. Provide proof that anyone identifiable as a "liberal" ever made such a comment. Being a nutcase conspiracy theorist does not prove one is a "liberal".
I think that maybe I helped some lefties believe that part when a friend and I talked about the huge wind machine that Bush and Cheney had set up in the Gulf that was used to cause both Katrina and Rita. We even had them commenting on the fact that the machine could have been loaned to China for their following monsoon. I am not sure how many know that monsoons turn the opposite direction that hurricanes do. Straight line winds, you say?

You are aware that the Homeland Security system that failed was put into practice by the president in 2002. And it's one more thing that Bush booted and Obama will need to fix.
Add to that, because the terrorist attempt was a failure, Obama shouldn't have made a comment until he had facts to address. There's no need to gather any more facts on Haiti than that the country was devastated by an earthquake.
Yeah, like he waited for facts before he accused a whole police force of being racist because one of his people was hauled in after acting like a little kid and forcing his own arrest. Racist as all billy hell but never the less the way the man acted without many facts. But wait, he later drank beer with everybody and things were nice again.
I remember listening a year ago when he made that remark and yeah he does hope Obama fails due to his policies. I hope Obama fails as well. His policies will set the US back for decades to come.
