So?

If you own a corporation, millions of Americans do, and take the money out you will pay individual income taxes on it. The idea is to take the money out so the corporations don't pay taxes on it.

Anyone who owns a business knows that if you make a profit, the government is going to take 20% of it. It's a better idea to just reinvest the money in your business. Not rocket science, ya know.

That's true but most small businesses do. You know the people who create jobs.

""It's shameful that so many corporations make big profits and pay nothing to support our country."

Taxes are not bible laws. They can be changed by society's changing needs.
In general, taxes can be on income of individuals, or corporations, or both. Theoretically it is also possible to cancel income tax in favor of a federal sales tax (i.e. taxes on expenses instead on income). Regardless of the way taxes are been collected, it should change little for the majority of population.

Considering that many companies have not been making a real profit for the last several years, why should they be paying taxes while in the red?

Unless someone wants to claim that GM or Ford made a profit in 2005 in the home market...heck, I ran my own biz in 02-03 and didn't pay taxes, but I also made no profit.

I see where the article is going, but FAILS severely to look at the big picture outside of the box known as class envy. I would also not expect goons like Levin or Dorgan, who have probably NEVER worked a real job in their lives, to understand that.
