Scott Brown is making himself out to be a man of the people because he owns a truck. The point of Obama's comment was that buying a truck doesn't make this so. Cue hysteric knee-jerk reaction to out-of-context soundbyte and here we are.

It's very embarrassing. We have a president, the leader of our country, who says things you would expect to come out of the mouth a some smarmy smart-alecky teenager’s mouth. The point is he comes off as childish and immature.
I'm resigned to the fact he should not be let out of the house without his teleprompter.
He stupidly says this while campaigning for Coakley in MA.
