You make the fatal mistake of thinking that the majority of Southerners think like you. You are in a very very small minority that most consider traitors or uneducated. Perhaps you'd be happier in a Middle-eastern country closer to your way of thinking [how about Iran?].
There are a lot of people throughout the Union that aren't too happy with the feds right now. They've grown too big for their britches.
Im sure the Mason Dixion Southreners are content with the way things are now...Because faced with the prospect of hundreds of thousands of Mexican militia comming in from the west with the promise of free land and citizenship for militia fighting for the union...free land from the Mason Dixion line south and The Mississippi River to the west.
The US would just have to sit back and intern all the rebs running up north...
They would have to travel through southwestern states that aren't too happy about their invasion now (Mexicans). You really think that states like Arizona and Nevada and Texas are going to accept a Mexican army marching through their states? Or take up arms against them?
Once again let me try to explain the point of this thread to you. It was started to get the North and the South to do what it does best: argue. It has worked with all the same people coming out of the woodwork. No state in the South(except maybe Texas) is even talking about leaving the Union. Also, I don't believe there has been any serious talk in Texas. Yes, there are people unsatisfied with the government, but many of those are in the Northwest. Even the unsatisfied states are not taking steps to leave the Union. It is just talk. If we actually became 50 countries instead of 50 states, there would be constant war. How stupid to even argue about something that will not happen. Instead we need to be trying to fix our real problems, unemployment, health care, illegal immigration,...etc. etc. etc. Obviously there are people from the North that think less of the South. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. We, Southerners, need to just let it go. If they hated us as much as they say, they wouldn't keep coming down here.
Good gawd why,...............tried it once and it was a blood bath, lets not get into that situation again, them southern boys were a tuff nut to crack the last time.
Where is a state like Montana going to go? Canada? And I thought I was naive at times.
