He was a broadcasting legend, a commentator with a voice instantly familiar to listeners both loyal and sporadic.

But on the cusp of his national career, he was an FBI target whose network bosses fretted about whether he should be fired.

I figured out his propagandistic attributes listening to him lie during the Viet Nam war. He is a conservative icon - forget that, a conservative's God.

I always thought he looked an awful lot like Billy Graham, who seemed to have the same sheep following.

Who knew that God was twins?

Wouldn't be the first person in journalism to have close ties with the government.

Wasn't operation Mockingbird a CIA program to infiltrate media both domestically and abroad? Howard Hunt of Watergate fame made note of the program in his 2007 memoirs. Would make for interesting reading.

I did so look foward to his "And now you know the rest of the story" everyday driving home from work at 5:30. He came across as a stand up kind of guy.

You burst my bubble John1960..you burst my bubble.
And his son did not respond to emails for comments on that article which IMO said more than if he did comment.

His commentary was always excellent. What he did he did well. FBI doesn't diminish his journalistic acumen.

Paul Harvey was a propagandist. Who would've thought that?
