It's OK. He's wearing a jacket.

Actually, it's disgusting. It shows that Obama thinks of the WH as being HIS house. Somebody should tell him it's not HIS.

Anybody know whether the desk or other pieces are antiques with historical significance?

The desk is not only an antique its wrapped in history

The Desk that both Obama and Bush thought was ok to put their feet

the Resolute desk in the Oval Office or the their study in the Residence. It was made from the timbers of HMS Resolute, an abandoned British ship discovered by an American vessel and returned to the Queen of England as a token of friendship and goodwill. When the ship was retired, Queen Victoria commissioned the desk from William Evenden, Royal Naval Dockyard at Chatham, England (http://www.whitehousehistory.org/04/subs_pph/PresidentDetail.aspx?ID=19&imageID=797 - broken link), and presented to President Rutherford Hayes in 1880.

who cares--I really don't think he's putting disgusting mud covered boots on there!

I work in an office where the boys throw a football and talk on the phone like that feet up on desk--so maybe it just doesn't seem weird to me?

Is your office the office of the president of the United States? Are you all putting your feet on a desk that was made in the 1800s?

Oh for Pete's sake........I doubt that Obama is the first potus to put his feet up, throw a ball or eat in the Oval office. Hell, I recall a rather famous picture of a little boy playing underneath the desk - somehow it survived.

It truly boggles the mind with so much real things to criticize one chooses to fret about trivial things.

No, but I walk around in my apartment built in the 1800's each day. Just because something is from the 1800's doesn't make it sacred.

You think mud is dirty? Hah.

Think about some of the other things one steps in that are really filthy.

What do you suppose other countries/cultures think of the USA when they see these photos? There's the ugly American again. Arrogant, ignorant and without manners.
