There is nothing worse to a liberal than a conservative black man.

Way to tell them. Of course, those who agree with Obama that we should do away with the Supreme Court wouldn't realize what the job of a justice are. All this talk about Thomas not being racial enough tends to show that the writer has no idea that they aren't supposed to be racial and let race influence their doing their jobs.

I guess you need a rep point for this post.

Last I heard on the news was that some of the Justices didn't want to appear "Politically" motivated and hence don't go to the SOTU address because of the partisanship of it.. personal preference I guess... they don't want to appear politically biased... but that's just what I heard... I guess the liberals have a hard time not being politically charged and spew rhetoric left and right...

Would that be because most liberals think that black people are all liberal?

Regardless of his race, Clarence Thomas is the quiet judge who rarely voices an opinion other to agree with the conservatives. It was a typical Republican choice to find a man so out of touch with the common man [black or white] but use him for his color in order to get an ultra-conservative on the court. Thomas is laughed at in the black community as weird & out of place with the needs of America. Soto Mayor however is considered a good judge because she has an open mind to the needs of poor Americans.

Thomas is a goof & will likely go down as one of the least capable justices. What a waste.

Republican instruction to Justice Thomas: "never say anything, don't think & always vote with the conservatives"

Clarence Thomas' response: "yes master"

I believe that in a documentary I saw, it was stated that after 9/11 they also include members of congress and supreme court justices.
