And a surprising number of liberals here have said the people and country of Haiti is in poverty and corruption because of America. You couldn't tell that from the statements in your own article in which they praise America.

And I do believe this is true. If I am not mistaken, the US did occupy Haiti after it was discovered they had sugar cane and a lot of it. In fact, at one point in history Haiti was a prosperous nation. I'll get back to you on this.
