Here's something interesting from the liberal MSM;

This article;

http://search.yahoo.com/404handler?src=news&fr=404_news&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fw ww.drudgereport.com%2F&url=http%3A%2F%2Fnews.yahoo .com%2Fs%2Fnm%2F20100201%2Fbs_nm%2Fus_budget_backd oortaxes (broken link)

With the title "US Backdoor Taxes to hit middle class"

Has been mysteriously pulled. This is in its place;

The story Backdoor taxes to hit middle class has been withdrawn. A replacement story will run later in the week.
Fortunately, the original article is still around in Canada;

NEW YORK (Reuters.com) --The Obama administration's plan to cut more than $1 trillion from the deficit over the next decade relies heavily on so-called backdoor tax increases that will result in a bigger tax bill for middle-class families.

The White House had them pull it, according to Rush. Can you blame them? Obama promised no tax hikes for those making under $250K/year. And here he is, slipping all these taxes in via that back door (the dems love those back doors, and closed doors, don't they).

For example, the White House is raising taxes by stealth (good word, you libs look it up) by allowing the tax breaks to expire. Obama hopes we won't notice. Those were the Bush tax breaks that lowered individual tax rates, slashed taxes on capital gains and dividends, and scaled back the estate tax to zero in 2010. Democrats want to let these expire so that personal income tax rate will increase:

from 35% to 39.6%
from 25% to 28%
the 28% will go to 31%
the 33% will go to 36% T
The special 10 percent bracket will be no more.

The estate tax will return in 2011 -- though they want to bring back the death tax sooner.

The AMT, without legislation to reinstate the limit that was allowed to expire this past January 1,
could hit some 25 million people with incomes as low as $33,750 ($45,000 for joint filers). Even if it is reinstated at last year's levels, the tax will hit American families that can hardly be considered wealthy -- If you are making over $46,700 for singles and $70,950 for married couples filing jointly, better keep an eye on that AMT. It could be an expensive surprise.

There are other increases for those making under $250K/year... such as the college tuition credit of $4,000 being eliminated, and the first $2,400 of unemployment benefits will be taxed.
Last year, this amount was excluded from tax. That's a smart move on the Democrats' part, with so many unemployed just look at the revenue they can raise to help pay for their programs!

I did, 'cause I pictured you reading it. Why do you think I threw it in there?

You may not like to admit it, but Rush is right on most things...he's got sources neither you nor I would ever be able to get close to.

Did Rush happen to mention why they only asked Reuters to pull the article? Or is the claim that other outlets refused?

I was thinking, perhaps, Reuters pulled the article because they read the budget and found out that their facts were incorrect...

(Just an alternate theory, but who am I to argue with Rush, the Democrat "Insider"... )
