I find it disgraceful that a national prayer day is paid for with tax payers dollars. It violates the constitution and is just one more example of how the religious right constantly creeps into our government and how our country is run.

"The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer."

Sorry, constitution says this is cool. I didn't write it, don't blame me.

Where is one religion being established or favored over another?

Congress shall make NO LAW regarding the establishment of religion.

Where is the law for federal holidays for Presidents' birthdays?
Or is it just religion you have a problem with?
