The United States gov't has war plans for all potential adversaries (and allies I believe too). Having a game plan for Iraq shouldn't be a surprise. Especially considering he was in numereous UN Resolution violations, had broken the peace agreement and was still running his mouth saber rattling.
Saddam deserved to be killed. His sons and cousin too. The Middle East and world, are a better place. Alaikum salam.

They just can't seem to get over the fact that although they and their pathetic leaders tried to sell out the country no one was buying. They hate it that we are leaving Iraq a better place for having been there and they hate it that we set terrorism back many years and killed many people that would have continued to take american lives.
They hate it that the vast majority of Americans do not want their terrorist allies tried as american citizens and they hate it that they will not get any of their objectives fulfilled for their terrorist allies. They won't get Club Carribean closed, they won't get trials in NYC, they won't get a lot of things because no one is going to buy into the lunatic left except the loonies themselves.

Hello....there is a current investigation going on in britain in which the fact that the war was planned in june of 01 has been revealed in court. going on now. Funny how when asked for proof you change your stance. It's called the chilcot Inquiry...Heard of it perhaps??
you must have skipped through half of this thead to not get the fact that the Iraqi invasin was planned well before President Bush even became president.. The US policy became to overthrow the government of Iraq in 1998..
I'd wager that we have invasion plans established for countries like Great Britian, Australia, and even Canada.. Its kinda what the Pentagon does all day...
I somehow doubt that we have a finalized war plan to remove the leadership of canada. You are mixing apples and oranges in a very weak defense. If this is the case would not the government just admit this to stop all questions?
D Day invasion plans were finalized well before the invasion took place. Before Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor, we had plans to wage war against them, if needed.

I was, am, and will always be against the war in Iraq, but this isn't some smoking gun here.

Months, huh? Let's see: Bush took office in late January. Because the Gore team had not allowed the transition team to do all that is normally part of the process, they were behind. Bush was strategizing on how to handle the terrorist problem, saying at one point, he was "tired of [the U.S.] swatting flies", and wanted to take a more pro-active approach to terrorism. Nothing had been done about the Cole bombing (except a "finger wagging" by the Clinton administration).
So, if plans to invade Iraq were "finalized" months before 9-11, there must not have been a lot of planning. This is why this statement is doubful. By 9-11, Bush had been in office only about 7 months. And given the time to set up your administration, confirmation of cabinet, etc., there wasn't a lot of time to plan a major military operation like the invasion of Iraq. "Months in advance"? I doubt it.
This is just another smear campaign against the former president.

As a matter of fact, the US military (pentagon didnt exist at the time) planned an invasion of Canada going back to 1934...
That being said, Canada, developed an outline to invade the USA going back to 1921 (called Defense Scheme Number One)...
The fact that you seriously doubt that our pentagon plans to invade other countries all the time, doesnt mean it doesnt take place. That is the job of the pentagon...
