You tell me...doctors will shred their Hippocratic Oath and start drinking on the job?
You think appointment times are short now (I don't know if you do or not), but you can guarantee that adding several million people to our system will decrease access, decrease appointment times, increase wait times, and decrease quality as a secondary effect.
The problem is not the overall quality of American Healthcare.
The problem is managing the costs of American Healthcare.
Well if everything is free in canada and the government is taking care of it I see no reason why quality should be a issue.
So what your saying is your want cheap and quality healthcare.
The word cheap and quality dont ususally go together.
Though from time to time they can but when your dealing with companies and governments we see ways to use laws and restrict freedoms on pricing and meds that tends to happen.
Problem is can you put a price on your health.
Its very hard to do and in some cases its not about what you eat, drink and sometime the body is crazy.
Example the Appendix just freaks out for no reason.
We still dont know what it's for and why we have it yet if it blows up we need someone to take it out.
This surgery is considered routine this days.
I bet the cost is not.
Without the surgery and meds you will die from this occurance.
So what is the price.
Can washington tell us the price, can doctors, hositipals.
I'm sure if you had a bidding war over the price and someone offered it cheaper you might get a discounted price but we dont do that.
What good is a healthcare that Americans go broke to use?
Many don't go broke using it. Also, it's overused by many because of low co-pays for office visits. Doctors who go on a fixed price model are being sued by their representative state for "offering insurance". I hope that many more doctors go the refusal of insurance route and go on a cash only basis. This will help reduce costs by not dealing with the red tape. Actually, why aren't liberals giddy over this idea? It involves screwing over the insurance companies and lowering costs for consumers...yet they're not really on board with it.
Williams travelled to the U.S. Monday on the advice of his doctors after weeks of consultations, Dunderdale said.
"I'm not going into the details of the premier's condition," she told reporters at a news conference in St. John's Tuesday morning. "Any heart surgery is serious, however, his prognosis is very, very good."
Dunderdale said the surgery would happen this week, but refused to provide specifics on the day or where Williams is being treated, other than to say he has "gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done."

I never stated my position on HCR I just want to make sure people understand what is being debated.
Right now America has exceptional technology, quality of Physicians and quality of hospitals.
I completely understand there is a cost to have all of that however I will not buy an argument that the insurance companies are run with efficency. They need to be reformed so they are not passing their outrageous expenses on to us.
