The military's top uniformed officer declared Tuesday that gays should be allowed to serve openly in uniform, arguing that it is "the right thing to do."

He told the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday he is deeply troubled by a policy that forces people to "lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens."

Which makes me really curious why the liberals arent outraged over Obama and his inactions.

He could make serving in the military legal within a day just by writing an executive order to under the Clinton executive order which created DADT..

Many liberals are outraged about it, believe me. We have to keep things in perspective, however.

Get rid of " Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and the next demand will be from transvestites. Give them an inch and they take a mile.

To me, it's insane that civil unions and same-sex marriages are legal in a number of states, yet if you're in the military and you choose to enter a civil union or marriage with someone of the same sex, it's grounds for being discharged. You don't even have to tell anyone about it.

What perspective? I'm sure right before the next election Obama will sit down and sign an executive order to allow gays in the military. It will be televised, and Obama and the Democratic party will make a big party out of the whole thing..

Liberals will celebrate and ignore the fact that gays were used as a policial pawn in order to get last minute needed votes for Democrats, while some individuals continue to have their life ruined for violating the gag rule..

Perspective? My perspective is another incompetent non action by the president who played more than mouth service over the topic during the election. Now of course there are "more important" issues.

This morning a lady called into one of our local radio shows and said, "We don't allow rapists, murderers, and pedophiles into the military...why should we let the gays in...?" I couldn't believe my ears!!

If it weren't for Obama, none of this would be happening at all. McCain made it clear that he opposed repealing DADT.

What matters is that it's getting done, thanks to Obama.
