I'm the same way but fortunately no one has made fun of me yet. I also try to use proper grammar when typing an email because you never know who will wind up reading it down the road. As far as the internet lingo like "lol" etc. I don't like it, but the more i participate in online discussions, the more I find myself using it. I too, am one of those people who types out text messages with proper grammar and spelling, my friends wonder why I always call rather than text back, it's cause my thumbs hate all that pushing.
