I didn't get that joke.

I think I am dizzy from the change in the climate here. We had a 30 degree spread in two days, and then a rainstorm!

That was my rare attempt at sarcasm, for some reason I cant seem to make those little faces work!
Greenland used to be warm and green where they grew crops and things, as i understand it is not that way now, hence the climate change. just not the climate change they are talking about!

You should reset your computer, clear the cache and perhaps you'll be able to use those little smilies

I wish we had more smilies and less climate change.

And thanks for bringing Greenland to the table. I always wanted to visit. I hope it isn't too late.

The period from roughly 850 to 1300 AD is known as the Mideivel Warm Period. Notrhern Europe was a couple of degrees warmer than now and so was Iceland and Greenland. Eventually the climate became colder and the growing seasons became too short in Greenland to support the cultivation of barley. Apparently the european colonists starved. However the Innuit had the culture and technology to survive the cold and lived on.

Greenland is now warming up and significant changes to the grownig season may allow an expansion of european culture in the area. there is also the possibility of major melting of the contentinantal glacier providing more land area.

Is this interesting info, GregW. But is the warming seen as a good or bad indicator of climate change?
