My bet would be he was talking about the number of contests ( primaries / caucuses ) the Democrats had held up to that point. More then just the 50 states held elections. Among the additional are Washington D.C, Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.
So knock him for misspeaking if you want, but I think it says more about the critic than Obama.
No one denies that almost everyone these days use a teleprompter. But Obama absolutely depends on it.
Have you not noticed that Obama can never look directly into the camera (the TV viewing audience)? He is either looking left, or right. never at us.
I find that a bit disturbing. People who lie will not look you in the eye (well, some will; Clinton did).
Obama is clearly lost without the teleprompter. He has even interrupted his speech a time or to to ask if they could "speed it up" or "slow it down". What an ass.
He did pretty good fielding questions at the Republican retreat without the help of a teleprompter.

Gradual and methodical baby steps were needed over the last century......to erode our rights/liberties through various legislation and all too often.....oppressive/restrictive/numerous laws enacted, and an ever-growing govt. mushroomed. From their perception of what we should all consider as a real crisis or threat, we continually allowed our liberties to diminish, along with freewill.
