Don't listen to what the experts have to say on the subject or anything...

Upside down, the red, white and blue attracted immediate attention. But it only made Barry Leonard see red. Leonard marched into Benton's office during our television interview. "I'm a Vietnam Vet and I'd like to know why you're flying the flag upside down," Leonard demanded.

It also set off a conflict at a Fort Worth VFW. "The only time you fly a flag like that is if you have a distress situation at that time. You don't fly it for the whole country as a distress signal," Edward Ferrell said.

If I ever met the redneck clown who did this I'd punch him right in his ignorant, toofless face.

Disrespectful also.

Why? Do you feel more comfortable disrespecting the flag because you saw some drunken hooligan on TV burn a flag?

United States Flag Etiquette

"The U.S. flag should never be displayed with the union down except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."
"extreme danger to life or property."

Considering that GM was nationalized and not allowed to fail, wouldn't one consider this danger to property?

He could shoot you if you tried and he'd be acquitted of any crime since you tried to assault him first.

That they're being a-holes on par with this store owner. But have you noted how nobody's attacking his right to fly the flag upside down?

Contrast and compare to the bunch of right-wing idiots who have seriously considered amending the constitution to stop people from burning the flag.

Symbols are for the symbol-minded. There are more pressing things to work on.
