Default The U. of Alabama-Huntsville shootout thread ... Your political comments...

As the story develops, let's hear your opinions...

Will the usual anti-gun nuts scream "Prohibition " again ?

Would such an incident happen if the law allowed qualified students to carry handguns in the campus for self-defence ?

I won't comment too much yet because there's not enough info. This is a sad, unfortunate event.

That is tragic. Maybe universities will learn that workplace bullying contributes to these type of violent events.

There is some truth to that, but I think it's sort of an oversimplification.

Apparently, the shooter was a member of the faculty and not a student. A damn shame.

WHNT-TV, Huntsville, reported the suspect is a faculty member who was denied tenure Friday morning and then went to a Biology Department faculty meeting at the Shelby Center for Science and Technology and starting shooting. None of the victims were students, the TV station reported.

The hell is wrong with people?

*Waits for somebody to say something ridiculous about "rejection of traditional values" or "secularism".*
