He's been in congress since 2004, voting on the spending and more spending.

The democrats have been in charge of congress since 2007, just about the same time the deficit/debt/spending exploded.
Where are these "tanking" poll numbers you tout in your 24-7 presence on this forum?

He's hovering around 50% - right on par with every other successful president at this time and significantly greater than Reagan.

Anyway, stay focused kid. This thread's about polling of the economy, not the president. No hijacking allowed just to avoid facing the topic at hand.

Now that we've proven there are "uneducated, clueless voters" (and quite a few racists) on both sides of the aisle, let's get back to the topic of this thread.

Why do these Obama followers forget he was ONE OF DEM LIBS who loved to spent money. ( Except Obama voted to cut off funding for our troops )

Then they easily forget the libs have totally controlled congress for 3 years and of course have FAILED us all, just like Obama has.

Tax and spent for nothing and pile up the debt is what they are all about.

This is Obamas economy, he owns it.

With an open checkbook and a majority in congress anyone could have got something done instead of spending an entire year on the FAILED HC bill instead of his sorry butt working on the most important issue, JOBS.

One year late he now wants to talk and or something about jobs.

Thanks for the misery Obama and the dems controlled congress.

Things are getting worse, not better thanks to dems bunch of liberal idiots in congress.

The party of NO, the demNOcrats are obstructionist who are purposely trying to destroy America financially so they can push their socialist crappy ways.

They cannot create a new job if their lives depended on it.

And this is why you need a balance in government..the Repubs for capitalism and the Dems for socialism. An even keel to support both business innovation and social programs to support people and bring them out of poverty.

What we have is 3 years of Dems - social programs that seem to grow without bounds. Anti-capitalist sentiment that only ends up in "government" jobs.

Having one extreme or the other ruling does this country no justice.
Just read the paper to see proof. People are waiting for the government to save them, to find them jobs, to give them credits/money to buy stuff. The entitlement mentality has taken over this nation and the blame squarely falls on our government.

Spend money to get out of debt ??? Yes, Bernake thinks that if Hoover did that pre 1929 then the Depression would not have happened. Well that is just one of many theories as to the cause of the Great Depression. It may not be the right one though....we shall see, won't we ?

Thank you for cutting-and-pasting another response. Here are the reasons your line of accusation remains incorrect;

1. 1 vote out of 100 does not give anyone the power to run the economy.

2. Health care constitutes 16% of the economy - a health care bill is a jobs bill.

3. Democrats did not have control until 08. They gained enough control in 06 to create a stalemate and stop the bleeding of our nation, but not enough to do anything.

4. Obama does own the economy, but this poll shows that people are not falling for the Republicans' persistent efforts to alleviate themselves of their own failures in managing the economy that began years before the collapse.

5. Allowing the federal government to borrow and spend when no one else can keeps capital flowing through the economy and has created many jobs. I've known a few individuals desperately in need of work who now have it because of the stimulus, so it is incorrect to say that it creates none.

I agree with you. We got too far down the path of letting the market run which ultimately collapsed it, so we voted in the party that would regulate and control the market better.

No doubt we will be balancing out again with this election (I hope). Conservatives will see it as an endorsement of their views just as Dems saw the last couple as an endorsement, but in reality it's just the necessity of balance that the electorate will be seeking.

Hilarious! For 6 years Bush got most of his agenda passed...with a virtually tied senate. The difference? Leadership.

Tanking in the polls - I assume you haven't noticed. I suggest uncovering your eyes and ears.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Obama Job Approval

This is called tanking. He is at 47% - no president has fallen so far so fast. From 70% down below 50% in a year.

I think we all share responsibility for the current state of our economy in one way or another. However, it's easier to place blame on others because acknowledging our individual roles in this mess might actually mean taking responsibility for fixing things.
