I never forget Michael Phelps showing true sportsmanship in 2004 Olympics when he gave his spot in a swim race to his fellow US swimmer Crocker.
By doing that he showed that promotes the sport or swimming, and promoting sportsmanship was more important to him than promoting himself. Why these hockey players can't do the same by allowing the less experienced players to take over the last minutes of a game which has alreayd been won is beyond me. But I guess it is more a coaching decision than a player's decision.
USA was boo'd during the opening ceremonies. I watched it!
Did you see an actual person booing? No you didn't. They were banging drums which made a low sound. If that was a boo, every performer that night also got booed. Did you notice that too?

At 18-0 Canada should pay reparations to the Slovaks. 18-0 is bush league!
It sounded like booing to me, but I heard the same sound when the Canadians came in. Then I heard they had these little drums that they were banging. I think that's what it was.

The Natives were also doing their pow wow thing, beating drums singing and dancing.....there were no boos.
I do think they could have toned it down a bit. Put the 2nd/3rd string in. Top level athletes risk injury if they are not playing at their best because they are too relaxed, but the 2nd/3rd string would solve that dilemma when you know the game is won.
